QLD: Couple stabbed to death at Springbrook

Police say two people were stabbed to death last night in a vicious attack at their home in
the Gold Coast hinterland.

The killings brings to five the number of violent deaths on the Gold Coast in the past 10
days.

Police say a 24-year-old woman was found dead in the hallway of their Springbrook home
while her 27-year-old male partner was found in the front yard at 6.45 last night.

Acting Detective Inspector GRAEME MILLARD says both had suffered multiple stab wounds and
their bodies were found by a friend.

He's told reporters the attack was vicious and there's no signs the victims fought back.

He says police are uncertain if it's a random killing or if the murderer was known to the
couple.

Police haven't found a weapon, but are doorknocking the area in search of information.

A post mortem examination is being carried out.

The victims names haven't been released.







On January 24 a man died after being shot at his home in Molendinar and a day later another
man was stabbed to death near Jupiters Casino.

On January 29 a 64-year-old man was killed in his Molendinar home.
